Here Comes The Bride...

I've Got The Fever

I am totally channelling the 70's right now, and I am desperately craving these sky high Jessica Simpson platforms. They are under $100.00 and come in black too, but I am thinking I favor these colors...imagine how long the tan pair would make your legs look. SEXY! Boogie Town here I come...

Staple Wardrobe

STAPLE is a fashion line from Australia, and as we all know I LOVE the Aussies. This line is so chic and sexy, the clothing literally drapes on a woman and the fabric looks so soft and delectable. Of course all of the clothing looks incredible on their amazingly freakishly gorgeous models, they make me jealous. I am really digging the body con dresses and use of sheer fabric, the pictures I am going to show you are from summer 2009, but it is my favorite collection from STAPLE thus far. Australian style is very fresh and simple, all the girls in OZ wear gauzy shirts, cut off shorts/high waisted skirts, and gladiator sandals...adorable, especially with a golden tan. I really really want the powder blue pants, they are purely awesome and I can already imagine so many cute spring out fits revolving around them. Enjoy!

Ready To Wear

After drooling over Sonia Rykiel's Spring 2010 Ready To Wear collection, I am definitely in the market for a sexy cardigan and quilted pencil skirt. I love Sonia's designs because they always have so much movement and really show off the female form. Though this collection is more structured than her usual designs, they still manage to flow and drape a woman's body. The models seemed to be having the time of their lives strutting down the runway in Sonia's unique collection, as would any woman lucky enough to wear her clothing! This collection is a throw back to the 50's, the demure, yet sexy cardigans and knit wear, and the high waisted and genie style pants. I love this look, classic and sexy, but I must say it is difficult to pull off without looking like a costume. A lot of confidence is needed to don clothing like this, and of course an eye to eye smile and some massive sunglasses.

MUSTARD

I couldn't resist...this dress that Diane Kruger wore to the 2010 SAG Awards has taken my breath away. Jason Wu, the designer of the gown has made a dress so perfect for the female form, that I believe he may prance around in ball gowns daily (for research of course). The strong mustard color of this dress is a surprisingly incredible choice for a sexy, body hugging gown like this. I see it in every color under the sun for many different occasions. OK, it does help that Miss Kruger is a drop dead gorgeous, pin thin, blond, movie star... but the shape and sexuality of this gown would flatter any woman lucky enough to put it on.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, mine was filled with sleep, seeing old friends, house hunting, and looking forward to a new experience tomorrow. It has been an eventful few weeks and I am beginning to feel very good about the year to come.

This week I am taking a three day hiatus to La Jolla to work for my family business (the Marilyn Brush, one of my dad's newest products, it was recently aired on Rachel Ray and they have 400 orders already...check out the Marilyn Brush and many other fantastic brands HERE). That being said I am going down south to help out a bit.

I am also going to catch up on blogging this week so expect some good reads. For example: a blog post request for fashionable taller ladies everywhere, the most stylish hats around and the handsome men who design them, best eats in LA, how to decorate on a dime...)

sorry birdie...

I want to be draped in feathers... starting with this GORGEOUS purse. The colors, the movement, the absolute stunningness (it even deserves it's own made up word). Mine, now, thanks.

Goodnight xoxo

Grey Globes

Sunday night was the 67Th annual Golden Globe Award show, unfortunately for the many coifed celebrities they had to share the spotlight with a grey sky and rain. I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the ever entertaining award show while I was at work, though the sound was off I enjoyed watching the rich and fabulous look their best. Here are some of my choices for best dressed.
Christina Hendricks: Christian Siriano
Va Va Va VOOM! Hello Jessica Rabbit, the Mad Men stunner made quite the appearance on the red carpet, flaunting her breast, I mean best assets. I love the color of this dress, it almost looks like champagne cascading down a tower of crystal glasses. Christian Siriano is so good at giving the illusion of fullness. I love the hair, the makeup, and even her come hither look, way to go!
Emily Blunt: Dolce & Gabbana
Let's be blunt about it, pun intended, I love Emily and I think she looks fantastic, though she did play it safe. The gown is lovely, pink, angelic, beautiful draping, but it lacks something...maybe it is because we have seen it before. Needless to say I chose it as one of my favorites, she looks great, maybe she should have worn her hair up? Am I being too critical?

Olivia Wilde: Gucci
Olivia is one of my boyfriends favorites, and I can see why: her tiny frame, sultry cat like eyes and ability to look "cute" in a daring low plunging dress. This gown photographs beautifully, I can imagine it being very soft and and well fitting, just look at the way it drapes on her body... perfection. I must say I would have preferred to see her hair down and tousled to add an extra pow...

Jennifer Aniston: Valentino
I love this dress, I think it is sexy and simple, like most Valentino gowns. When Jen came on the screen I said, WHOA she looks amazing, her hair, the glow in her skin and those legs. This dress is a beautiful silhouette and I think it is very wearable, she always looks so effortless, how does she do it?

Anna Paquin: Stelle McCartney
Wow wow wow, not only do I love Anna in everything she wears/does, but she looks so sexy and fresh in this dress. She definitely gives the golden globe himself a run for the money.

Kate Hudson: Marchesa gown and Casadei shoes
This Origami inspired dress is very clean and crisp, the paper like folds really make this gown a stand out piece, not to mention she is wearing a waterfall of stunning jewels. I like the fact that Kate paired a sensible dress with such sky high platforms, I did a post about Casadei shoes a while back, they still have a place in my heart.

Drew Barrymore: Atelier Versace
I think she looks radiant as ever, the star burst detailing on this dress is unlike anything I have ever seen before, very glamorous and feminine, love.

Marion Cotillard: Christian Dior
I normally would not gravitate to a dress like this, but for some reason her classic beauty makes this draped silk dress quite desirable. The color is what makes this Christian Dior number stand out, it is across between emerald and pewter, and I like it. The slip dress effect is a unique touch, and leaves a bit to the imagination if you ask me...

Sandra Bullock: Bottega Veneta
Not only do people say we look alike, but she is wearing my favorite color and looks so regal while doing so. I hope when I am 40 I look close to as incredible as she does. This dress is a simple silhouette, yet the sheer fabric adds a dose of sexiness, and her hair- amazing.

Who stole the show in your eyes?

where does the time go?

It is now technically Thursday January 14, 2010 and I have not written a blog post in almost 10 days...wow wow wee. Since I have been back from Australia I have been non stop, I got the chance to assist a friend in the wardrobe department of a great horror flick, the hours are long, but it is so worth it. So there is my excuse for lack of posts, that and I have been wearing Uggs and dirty jeans to work everyday applying fake blood and distressing clothing...I have not even unpacked, gross. I will be back soon, until then it is work work work for me and I like it! Have a good rest of the week.

Here is the trailer to the movie Hatchet- I am working on the set of Hatched II....watch out people, Victor Crowley lives...

show off your wang

He's done it again...Alexander Wang has designed his first sunglasses collection for Linda Farrow. I am loving them all, very streamed lined and retro, especially the ones I labeled "my favorite"...I want them now (lately I want everything...it must be a phase, I hope). The spring 2010 collection will be available at Opening Ceremony, can't wait to drool over them in person.

Seasonal Flavor: Transitional Sole

Growing up in California was amazing, living in Los Angeles as an adult is quite fabulous as well...but I must say having distinct seasons would be a nice change. I have come to the conclusion that despite the fact that I have an entirely separate wardrobe for my "winter" coats, the only seasonal necessity for Californians is shoes. It is always easy to tell what season it is in LA by looking at the shoes women are wearing. For obvious reasons the boots come out, and for less obvious reasons I notice heels stay at home and wedges debut.

I have been scouring the web for some transitional shoes, that can easily go from winter to spring , as well as fall to winter. If you haven't already noticed I am a huge fan of black, it is the easiest to pull off and the hardest to ruin. These highly desirable shoes are classic with a trendy twang, I have fallen in love with #3 and #5 above.

The L.A.M.B slip on cage sandals (3) are so sexy and versatile, and would make any pair of legs look long and gorgeous. The Pelle Moda shoes (5) are also a very transitional shoe, because they are half bootie/half sling back, I see them paired with a tight pair of jeans, and a whimsical oversized blouse, yum! Update your wardrobe and step into spring with a timeless pair of black stunners.

Here is a picture of Leighton Meester on the red carpet at her New Year's Eve performance at Dusk nightclub in Atlantic City, NJ. When I came across these pictures on JUST JARED, I had to do a double take, because I am normally a big fan of both Leighton Meester and a beautiful lace top...in this situation I am not sure. That being said I need some help, do we like the sexy/odd/somewhat out of place look our favorite GG star is wearing, or should she have opted for a tank and a pair of tight jeans? Let me know.

*on a side not I love the hairdo and flawless makeup.
